About Thermal Balance Brakes |
Our MissionThermal Balance Brakes mission is to develop scientific solutions to combat "Metal Fatigue" stress.
Metal Fatigue is a major destructive factors contributing to the eventual catastrophic failure in:Infrastructure Components (high rises, oil rigs, bridges, tunnels, roadways, pipelines, water mains)Vehicles (Buses, Trucks, Railroads, Aircraft, Ships) WeaponsCritical Machine Metal Parts
Our HistoryResearch and development of Thermal Cycling began in 1999 with Frank Masyada, founder and CEO. For the first few years, Thermal Cycling was limited to golf clubs and drivers. Literally thousands of clubs were processed, giving the golfer as much as 24-30 extra yards.
Then in 2006, Frank began to research how Thermal Cycling could be applied to a variety of of other metal parts, especially those that play a major role to our infrastructure, (eg brakes and weapons).
Research was slow and arduous. While most golf clubs have the same metal, brakes (rotors and drums), weapons, etc., all have different metals. Each had to be tested and retested. Frank worked in conjunction with an independent laboratory, The Modal Shop in Cincinnati, Ohio where Thermal Cycled metal parts were compared to metal parts processed with cryogenics.
After literally hundreds of hours of independent testing, Thermal Cycling was proven to consistently combat metal fatigue.Once the process was certified, trials began on live vehicles. Brake drums were put on school buses for the Sarasota Florida school district. For nearly a year and a half, trials continued, with amazing results. To quote their maintenance staff in 2008, "We have tested treated brake drums and pads on several of our school buses. Results have been highly impressive and we have experienced much longer life time in both. Naturally we have decided to change to Thermally treated brake parts on all our buses as cost savings are remarkable."Since that time, hundreds of brake rotors and drums have been Thermal Cycled, with more clients coming on board every day. Once the trials in Sarasota were completed, municipalities and fleet operators began to hear about Thermal Balance Brakes "through the grapevine".Thermal Balance Brakes and Thermal Cycling are fast becoming the industry standard for police and sheriff vehicles, firetrucks, school buses, city buses, dump trucks, mail trucks, and fleet operators. You can find us at Come on...Watch us grow!
